Hello friends, I hope this finds you all well. I am glad to be back at the computer writing. Some of you may have noticed I have not been posting much. That is true. Over the summer, we found out one of our darling children had some learning disabilities, learning this was both a relief and a bit sad. I am however very grateful to have some insight into the inner workings of my beloved child and how to help them more effectively.
At first when I found out I was tempted to keep the same blogging pace I had kept through the summer, but something told me I had to give planning and beginning our school year and adjusting to the necessary changes my full attention. I am convinced we would never have found an ebb and flow that works had I not given 100% of my focus to this new adventure. Things are beginning to flow again, and I am excited to share many of things I have learned. The Lord has humbled me by reminding me I can do nothing without Him. No matter how awesome my plans are it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit moving through me that I may really love my children the way their souls need. I am completely dependent.
Expanding Wisdom Community & Reading Group
I am happy to announce that even though there has not been much posting activity our community has grown, so much so that we have decided to read some books together. Beginning this week, we will take this year to read Dante’s Inferno and Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis. We will discuss each week in our Expanding Wisdom Community Facebook group online. In addition, about once a month we will have a Google hangout and discuss face-to-face online. If you are not yet part of our community, but would like to be, you can join here or at the bottom of this post. Once you join you will receive a welcome email with a link to the Facebook group. If you are already part of the community but have not joined the Facebook group, check your email for prior messages from us. I include links in all the ‘Gardens of Letters’ newsletters we send out. Our newsletters are one more of the benefits of this free community here at Expanding Wisdom.

Stayed tuned, over the next couple weeks you will be hearing from me on how to read deeply, and about how we planned our year to keep focused on the simple melody line of the good, true, and the beautiful even with all the special considerations we had to make.
May the Lord be with each of you this week as you are the hands and feet of Jesus to your families and communities.
