What is a Great Books approach?  -Angelina Stanford

In this session, Angelina Stanford helps us to understand what a great books program is, what are the different filter we can use for selecting book lists for a humanities class, and how to think about the different kinds of great books. Understanding this is central to understanding how the great books fit into the larger vision of a classical liberal arts program and why we do what we do at Paideia.

In the Fullness of Time: How the Ancients Prepared the World for Christ -Angelina Stanford

Have you ever wondered what the pagan ancients have to do with a Christian education? In this session, Angelina takes us on a fascinating journey through the world of the ancients their myths and their times and shows us how they prepared the world for Christ, gave us eyes to see, and how the lessons we learn from the ancients fit into a whole picture of what it means to pursue a Christian education.

Rhythm & Rest: Liturgies at Home & School -Kelly Keller

In this very practical session, Kelly helps us think about the idea of a liturgy in an academic setting. She presents several examples of activities and practices that can help construct a liturgical rhythm for class time or for a homeschool setting. In addition, Kelly shares her experience as the 5th-6th Humanities Mentor and how she helped her students overcome conflict and cliques in class at our one-day-a-week homeschool community.

BONUS: The Stages of a Relationship: The Art of Friendship & Schole -Jennifer Dow

A short talk that was given at the 2017 Paideia Fellowship Homeschool Community Philosophy Potluck
